Clinical audits are powerful tools for changing clinical practice, generating data and addressing issues.
Scius has developed a range of online, paper-based and nurse-facilitated, accredited clinical audits that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
Critical to the success of any audit is having a clear set of objectives and understanding, upfront, all the potential uses of the audit data. Armed with this knowledge, Scius is experienced at developing audits that will answer the data generation objectives and, at the same time, keep the process simple and easy to complete.
Once developed, Scius has an established set of systems in place to ensure data integrity and to minimise participant drop-out. The proof is in the output, with recently completed audits being published in Australian journals:
- Bell J et al. An Australian pharmacy audit of the management of heartburn and the role of over-the-counter proton pump inhibitors. Australian Pharmacist 2010;29(6):526-528
- Cook D et al. Acne. Best Practice Management. Australian Family Physician. In press 2010.
- Inderjeeth C & Smeath A. Bones Beyond 70. Australian Family Physician. In press 2010.
