Bones Beyond 70 is one example of a recently completed RACGP and ACRRM accredited clinical audit. Participating GPs had the flexibility to complete the audit online or offline. The clinical audit not only improved the management of osteoporosis amongst those GPs who participated in the audit, but the aggregated data has been presented at scientific meetings and is in the final stages of be published in a peer-reviewed journal, extending the reach of the key educational messages.

Other clinical audits developed by Scius not only delivered the GPs feedback on their management of specific conditions, but also provided GPs with decision support tools to improve the management of individual patients.

The benefit of conducting an audit is not restricted the world of General Practice. Scius recently completed an audit on the pharmacy management of heartburn that has been published in Australian Pharmacist. This data is being used to shape the environment and develop this important pharmacy market.
